Noosa Festival of Surfing 2009

Surfing Noosa 1st Point with only 6 surfers was like being there in the 60's, from a vague memory I think that was the last time I surfed on the point. Perfectly shaped 2-3 foot waves peeled through both the high and low tides, with some set waves being a little bigger.

I ended up surfing five rounds with the final of the over 60's being the largest and most consistent of my sessions through the week. Some amazing surfing on the Old Mals and the noseriders blew everyone away. (see the video below).

Jai Tucker's Double Flyer Swallow Tail Twin Fin

A small adjustable stabilizer creates a variety of options for this Twin Fin.
"Couldn't believe how fast it was, fell off the back of the board on my first wave as it just scooted away." said Jai. "So fast and maneuverable, I'm stoked."

A light concave vee throws it up onto the rail with ease then the twin concaves take over to give the squirt. A great board for flat and powerless waves. Available in all sizes.

Micro Mal

Inspired by "The Spy Who Shagged Me", an Austin Powers classic, the Micro Mal artwork captures the essence of this board. "Step on the good foot and do the fun thing."

6"3" x 22" x 3" it's a Mal, it's a fish, it's a twin fin. Full nose area and flow through concave into a soft twin concave vee, rounded area pin. Fin combinations are endless. "The most fun you can have with your boardies on."

Custom orders available only at Harveysurf, Burleigh Heads.

Shapers Workshop - Peter Apperly

Just received some comments from Peter Apperly on the Shapers Workshop.

I’ve just completed the 5 week shaping workshop with Richard Harvey and now riding a new self shaped 9”1’ Mal. After completing the course you don’t just walk away with a self made surfboard but the knowledge to build any shape you want, Richard basically teaches you the formula to shape and design surf boards. I’d 100% recommend the workshop to anyone wanting to learn about shaping and board design, it makes shaping so much more fluid when you know the methods and process rather than just having a go without the knowledge. I look at boards in a new light now and it has also changed the way I surf depending on the board and knowing what it has been designed for. Riding a self made board brings even more to the surf session, cheers.

8" x 10"

With board manufacturing being flat out, I have only had the time to slip in a few smaller pieces.
Maybe they will end up all in one panel.
I'll play with  them a little more before deciding.
But I do like the feel good of these 8 small pieces.

Superbank

A light hearted feel good painting of where we all would like to be.
